Jashin-chan (邪神ちゃん?) is a self-centered serpent who was summoned from Hell by Yurine. She possesses regenerative abilities, which allow her to revive herself after her actions lead to bloody vengeance from Yurine.

The Japanese word "Jashin" (邪神) means "evil god."

Appearance[]

Jashin-chan has long blonde hair with light blue ribbons tied on both sides and blue eyes. Being a lamia, Jashin-chan's lower body is that of a green snake.

Personality[]

As a person, Jashin-chan has a whole set of bad traits like open selfishness, gluttony, arrogance or even immorality when she manipulates the kindness of Medusa or eats the bento that Yurine gave to pauper Pekora. And despite the fact that she regularly receives various punishments for her bad deeds, Jashin does not extract any lesson from this. She is an incompetent dimwit when she always attacks Yurine but easily backfired so easily

Being a rather unsympathetic person, Jashin-chan may appear to be a villain in this series, but she is a good person at heart. Helping others seems to make her happy, and she enjoys being praised for good behavior, or for her cooking, though she tries to hide this through tsundere behavior or by pretending that her good deeds were motivated purely by self-interest. She also can't stand the thought of others disliking her, to the point of feeling physically ill. It is unknown why she feels obligated to be evil.

Relationships[]

Yurine Hanazono[]

Jashin-chan was summoned to Earth by Yurine for no reason other than just to see if she could. She was unable to return Jashin-chan to Hell herself, as the grimoire which she used to summon her did not contain the return spell. The only other way for Jashin-chan to return home is if she kills her summoner, and as such, she spends each day unsuccessfully trying to kill Yurine while simultaneously spending time with her and various acquaintances from Heaven and Hell.

Yurine takes it upon herself to punish Jashin-chan for her bad deeds, usually in a relentlessly sadistic and bloody manner. Despite this, Jashin-chan refuses to relent and sometimes even intentionally provokes Yurine into attacking her. Despite this, or perhaps because of this, Jashin-chan and Yurine are very good friends

Medusa[]

As best friends since childhood, Medusa and Jashin-chan share a strong, sometimes even intimate bond, more like a married couple from a caring, simple-hearted wife and frivolous husband, which reminds Yurine of "boy-girl relationship". In this relationship, Jashin often plays the role of an abusive parasitic "husband" who shamelessly manipulates the kindness of her "wife" Medusa, constantly using her as a cash machine and manipulating her at every opportunity.

At the same time, at critical moments of their friendship, she is able to be quite sentimental, jealous and even openly admits that she is unable to function normally without Medusa, using for this purpose such words as "aishiteru", which is considered to be one of the strongest Japanese words for expressing platonic or romantic love for someone.

Even though Jashin-chan continues to have a toxic effect on Medusa and uses her as a cash machine, their near-family relationship continues to be emphasized throughout the series, when Medusa gives her chocolate for St. Valentine's Day, or when Jashin-chan invites Medusa to a near-date to apologize to her.

Minos[]

Minos is another childhood friend of Jashin-chan's. When Minos transferred to Jashin-chan's school, none of the other students would play with her because minotaur are stereotyped as being violent and dumb. So she played alone during recess, until Jashin-chan approached her and invited her to play dodgeball. They've been friends ever since. Unlike Medusa, Minos refuses to enable her bad habits by lending her money and is too strong to let Jashin-chan take advantage of her.

Persephone and Persephone II[]

Persephone was formerly one of Jashin-chan's primary school teachers. As a student, Jashin-chan required extra attention from her teachers and as a result Persephone grew close to Jashin-chan and her friends. To this day, she looks up to her not just as an instructor but as a close friend and caretaker.

Once Persephone learned that Jashin-chan was trapped under the servitude of a human, she sent her daughter, Persephone II, to find her and teach her the Refined Dropkick so that she might defeat her captor. Medusa gave her the nickname "Per-chan". For whatever reason, Jashin-chan despises Per-chan and doesn't hesitate to make this known. Per-chan returns this animosity with the occasional cheeky remark, but otherwise remains amicable with her as she does everyone else she meets. She succeeded in her mission to teach Jashin-chan the Refined Dropkick, but even with the new move she was unable to kill Yurine.

Kyon-Kyon and Ran-Ran[]

Kyon-Kyon and Jashin-chan quickly found common ground in the fact that they are both entirely gormless and carefree individuals who have few reservations when is comes to finding ways to have fun. Jashin-chan joking calls them "The Dumb Devil Duo" and they occasionally enjoy daytime excursions doing things such as dine-and-dashing and acrobatics on skyscraper rooftops.

Ran-Ran thinks Jashin-chan is a bad influence on her sister.

Hatsune Miku[]

She and Miku are seldom shown as enemies (like when Miku hit her by a delivery truck), but they are sometimes friends.

Kenshiro

The Main Protagonist of Hokuto no Ken Kenshiro make a Cameo Apperance in Jashin-Chan Dropkick "Sekimatsu-Hen" Helping Jashin and Medusa in Jashin Training in the Assassin Fist

Powers & Abilities[]

Jashin-chan Dropkick[]

Jashin's signature move is her dropkick, in which she uses her snake tail as a spring to launch herself into the air, landing with a devastating blow. This is usually ineffective.

It's a running joke in the series to point out that Jashin-chan doesn't use her dropkick much, despite the series being named after it.

Regeneration[]

Jashin's powerful regenerative abilities render her effectively immortal. Whether she's maimed, decapitated, or minced into mush with a chainsaw, she is always able to completely recover in a few hours. Despite this, Jashin-chan claims she is still able to be killed with a gun, or by being burned thoroughly.

According to series creator Yukiwo, the source of this power is an orb inside her head that was placed there because she's a "chosen devil". As long as the orb remains intact, she will not die.

Royal Copenhagen[]

Jashin-chan's Royal Copenhagen is an ordinary punch. Sometimes a strange energy can be seen surrounding her fist, but this is likely just for dramatic effect. The move was named after a Danish porcelain manufacturer which she thought sounded cool.

Capture

A special development of the Royal Copenhagen is the "Left Hand Copenhagen", which is the same as the regular Royal Copenhagen, but even less effective on account of Jashin-chan being right-handed. She came up with this left-handed variant on the fly in the middle of a battle against Jizo when her right hand was broken, saying nothing in particular about Jashin-chan's intelligence or creativity.

Jashin's Special Ability[]

Jashin-chan has the ability to throw dice and have then land on whatever number she wants. As a kid, she would use this power to win games of sugoroku. Due to her low intelligence, she is unable to utilize this ability in a useful manner.

Laser Eyes[]

Jashin-chan can fire laser beams from her eyes. It's powerful enough to light Yurine's skin on fire.

Devil Fusion[]

In the anime, Jashin-chan has the ability to fuse with any animal or plant she comes in contact with (although she can only fuse with one at a time). This ability was first fully utilized for escaping Yurine, the angels, and debt collectors. She also was able to fuse with a melon in attempt to sell melons.
